Hi! Welcome! My name is Miss Becky.

 

So you want to start class with us? .....I’m sure you have a few questions so I hope the following information might answer some of those for you.

We currently offer Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Classes and Acrobaticarts Acro classes. 

For Ballet we follow the prestigious and influential Royal Academy of Dance syllabus recognised as an awarding organisation for Dance and accredited internationally for the highest standards of teaching. Darcy Bussell is our Patron, who remains to this day; an inspiration for all ballerinas and dancers!

Ballet classes are offered from age 2 + We start with Tiny Tutus in which the dancers will explore music and movement, developing body awareness and creativity using expression and musicality. This prepares them for the pre primary and primary classes in which they will learn the basic foundations of classical ballet.

Then students move on to the graded and vocational grades developing and perfecting their skill and understanding of the art of Classical Ballet and character dance.

Students who choose to study Acro will be following the Acrobatic arts syllabus with the first certified Acrobatic arts teacher in Cornwall which is very exciting!!! Acrobatic dance is a fusion of classical dance technique, strength and flexibility training. While having fun and keeping fit we start at the very beginning with each new student ensuring that we build on strong foundations for technique and strength that is needed in the higher grades to execute the skills safely.

Students will be learning a discipline that requires focus and dedication to gain results and exam opportunities will be offered to those that wish to pursue them subject to numbers.

I've had many years of experience within the professional dance world. I am a fully qualified and Registered Ballet Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance and AcrobaticArts syllabus.  

I have been lucky enough to have trained in Miami which lead me to travel twice round the world dancing on cruise liners. My other credits include dancing in Blues Bros The Musical, Coppelia with the English Youth Ballet, Cinderella with the European Ballet and I appereared as guest artist in Peter and the Wolf with Innovations dance company. I've also been part of support acts for Boney M and Bucks Fizz and run various Theater and Dance immersion workshops and courses across England and Germany. I have also danced for Sky Sports, performed in adverts for MTV and hair shows with Paul Mitchell and L'Oreal.

My performing days behind me, I now wish to pass on all I have learnt to my students, support them to achive their very best and if they choose to make dance their career, equip them for what lies ahead.

I carry CRB/DBS check and am a fully qualified paediatric first aider, I am also covered by public liability and public indemnity insurance. All certificates and documents are available for inspection.
